Case Study—(GTMO) Interpretation Solutions
After 2001, the need for Arabic translators and interpreters increased dramatically. Morningside was commissioned by international law firms and other organizations to provide Arabic-language interpreters at Guantanamo Bay, on the island of Cuba. Adding to the complexity of the situation, the interpreters, attorneys and government officials were required to work under significant time restraints.
Each of Morningside’s certified interpreters possessed the requisite security clearance for the project. Word of the interpretation project’s success spread rapidly throughout the legal community. Additional law firms and organizations decided to use Morningside for their multimedia needs relevant to the GTMO case. Morningside offered transcription, dubbing, video editing, voice-overs, and sub-titling services at our state-of-the-art studios. In a situation where qualification and timing were critical on multiple fronts, Morningside succeeded in providing the unique language solution.
Case Study—Product Localization
With a variety of well-known product lines already sold in department stores around the world, a major cosmetic company needed their labels, boxes, and marketing material translated into multiple languages - fast. With only a few days until the product’s scheduled launch, its marketing department was working feverishly to create the necessary content and graphics. The project was not only time-sensitive, but required the attention of culturally aware experts.
Once we received the branding material, we sprang into action. The result: Within 24 hours the project was translated into 22 languages ranging from Brazilian Portuguese to Icelandic. The deadline was met; the project launch was a success. But more important, we created an environment of trust and cooperation between the two companies, ensuring the client’s confidence in Morningside for future projects.
Case Study—Patent Expertise
The wave of Six Sigma hit the pharmaceutical industry full-force in the past several years, bringing about wide-ranging internal discussions on achieving cost-cutting and increased efficiencies. Morningside was approached by a leader in the industry to optimize costs and processes in the filing of its patents throughout the world.
The task involved precision translating, along with foolproof logistical planning and execution. Each translation must retain the critical protective power of the original patent. Translations must be delivered to the respective foreign patent offices for filing with no window for missed deadlines.
Morningside immediately recognized that a paradigm shift was necessary to ensure technical meticulousness and legal accuracy. Activating a network of patent associates throughout the globe, Morningside began supervising the simultaneous translation of numerous patents into multiple languages, delivered on-time to locations worldwide.
Less headache for the client in managing the patent filing process was considered a key measure of success. Our staff maintained constant contact with the legal representation abroad, and, when necessary, flew out to the respective offices to ensure full compliance was achieved.
